Both Right And Left Are Bankrolled

I keep reading about how the right is controlled and bank rolled by the Koch's and Murdoch and their evil, uncaring agenda...blah, blah, blah. And? Point? Isn't the left bankrolled by the likes of Turner and Soros? Man, Soros by himself can bankrupt nations in one hour. Turner is essentially a eugenicist.

Seems to me the only difference is conservatives are more organized and mobilized.

My question is: Is their agenda reflective of the people's beliefs and values or are they dictating it from the top and influencing our values and belief system?

Should we care about ideology?

This blog is officially looking for a sugar mummy to bak roll its operations. Together we can make great music together.

  1. I would argue you're mistaken, and only people on the conservative right (be they Republicans or Democrats) are bankrolled. And frankly, this isn't the reason they're wrong, it just explains why such stupid ideas get so much airtime.

  2. You'll have to expand. How is Turner/Soros any different?

  3. I think you'll have to expand on what Ted Turner or Goerge Soros have actually done that is liberal. Supporting Democratrs just makes you slightly less insane than supporting Republicans.

If real liberals were funded in this country, we wouldn't have the same exact problems now as we did 30 years ago.

  4. Ginx, all I did was point that both sides are bankrolled. You're trying to tell me Soros and Turner don't?

    Are you bleeping kidding me?

  5. If billionaires are funding something, that thing usually gets done. If there really are rich liberals funding liberal change, where has the change been?

Maybe you've just been duped into believing there's a difference between Democrats and Republicans on any issue besides abortion. If I'm mistaken, explain my error.

  6. So they're just ineffective at getting their message across. You didn't dispell that both get funded.

And if you were around long enough, you'd know that I don't think that way. They're pretty much the same with some very subtle differences. Much like our parties here save perhaps the NDP...and the Rhinoceros party. Who I really should consider voting for.

  7. If a "movement" is chronically bad at getting its message across, perhaps this is by design. I would argue Democrats are just as responsible as Republicans for the anarcho-capitalism and corporate cronyism that we have. These rich individuals have no vested interest in really being liberal, and truely liberal movements are always championed by social outcasts, not the establishment.

I might even argue the last Americans liberals signed the Declaration of Independence (FDR is that old, right...?).

  8. No argument here on that front.

TDR, I believe, took on corps. first.

  9. Teddy was easily one of the best presidents of the 20 century, behind only Eisenhower in my book. FDR was a distant third to the Rough Rider. Teddy also the last third party candidate to make a serious run at the White House. So many reasons to like him, and so much less blowback than FDR.

  10. Very interesting guy.

After reading about the Presidents, I came away with the same impression: Ike and TDR.
