What a tangled, psychotic web we weave.
One statistic revealed in a poll captures perfectly what I mean by who the spreaders of misinformation are.
Over 50% of Democrat voters believed that if contacted with Covid they had a better than 50% chance of going to the hospital.
The true figure is between 1%-5%.
Probably less if they allow for therapeutics.
I think, simply by observing behavior, it's safe to assume the situation is similar here in Canada among Liberal/NDP voters.
But think about that. How did such a distortion from reality happen?
Simple: FAKE NEWS.
Not from white supremacist conspiracy theorists.
Rather from our very own public health officials, politicians and media.
It's been an epic fail in contextualizing and conveying to the public the true risk of the disease.
Not just a public health disaster, but as you can see from the poll results, a psychological one at that.
No wonder the public clamours for harder measures - especially in Canada.
This is a mass hysteria. Period.
