You often hear liberals say "red states receive more welfare" than blue ones.
It's a bit of a vague assertion but one in which, on the surface, makes sense.
Alas, dig. And when you dig to China, you find out things.
When you consider individuals as opposed to states (on the aggregate), it's revealed a higher percentage of Democrat voters are on the dole. I like the way the article pulls Kroooogman apart. I see more and more of that these days. Krugman is less a valued, objective economic commentator, and more a political hack shilling for Team Blue.
And really, this should come as no surprise to anyone not of the leftist persuasion.
Their whole ideological outlook demands policy take care of citizens from cradle to grave. So it's a bit rich to have them then turn around and claim "conservatives" collect more welfare.
Since "unfunded liabilities" is burning up cash, more and more North Americans will be divided - false dichotomy duly noted but since this is more of a casual post I'm going with it - between the "free shit" crowd and the "fuck you, cut spending" group. Those in the middle will likely have to pick a side.
