Canada's Sparse Population Density

If there's one thing that's always blown me away about Canada is A) it's natural wonders and B) it's population density. Although the link is but a small sample of the overall program. It hardly does it justice. Georgian Bay, Banff, Jasper are just some of the breathtaking images of Canada. I'll always remember Calgary. A budding world class city with a cowboy swagger. On one side you see the great, vast plains of Canada's mid-west and on the other the majestic Rocky Mountains. Interesting town.

According to the list they're 228 out of 239 countries and dependencies in population density. That is, relative to its massive land mass, its population is sparse. 3 per km of land area. Australia is at 2. The interesting thing about it is over 80% of Canadians live near the American border for obvious reasons while most of Australia's population live along the coastal areas forming a ring around it. Both countries offer harsh, inhospitable climate too vicious to settle in.

The United States, also still has space available despite its population of over 300 million. 32 people per km inhabit her beautiful terrain.
