The Shutdown Is A Result Of Incompetence; Trump Reading The People Correctly

And now people are paying the price.

Worse, it's not the entire economy being asked to sacrifice but rather a couple sectors  have been selected 'marked for death'.

Specifically, the obvious group are those who are employed by the public health system. They may not be impacted financially, but they run the risk of paying through their health.

The next ones bearing the bulk of the brunt are small and medium business owners. Here, we're seeing a lot of 'picking and choosing' (or winners and losers) at play. The government has decided to shut down just about every SME (chosen to pay the price 'because we're in this together') around that form the spinal chord of our economy. Butchers, service industries (restaurants and hotels), hair dressers and barbers, hardware stores, boutiques of any kind, and so on. Same with daycare and private schools. These businesses employ tens of thousands - if not more.

This is the grease to the economy. This is where we see the health of an economy. A simple eye test of 'for rent' or 'A louer' shows what state we're in. I expect this to increase and if government forces us into debt, those locals will remain empty for sometime. It's rather troubling how quickly the government can rip your ability to earn a livelihood.

The issue of whether 'we have no choice' is not the point here, but we did have choices. This is a false dichotomy. We see in the plain there are as the cases of Singapore, South Korea and Sweden show. It's all in how you approach and prepare for things.

Corporations and banks, on the other hand, have been allowed (picked) to continue. As such, whatever fees owed to them must be paid.

Right here, we run into trouble. Big trouble.

They have stopped us from earning a living (and thus, the right to a pursuit of happiness) but at the same time all fixed costs must still be paid.

Whatever deferral options available (rent, mortgage, car payments etc.) are at the discretion of each individual companies and individuals (ie landlords). Some may get a great deal, most will not.

In my case, I did not get a single break. My landlord wants his commercial rent in full. Volkswagen's offer isn't very helpful (despite their bull shit commercial), my daughter's private school fees remain and it wasn't worth the hassle to defer a mortgage payment as I can afford to take a hit dipping into savings for a couple of months.

I'm sure I'm not alone.

So either a shutdown is truly for ALL, or it's just a partial one in which we're asking a certain segment of the population to pay the price.

We're attempting to offset this potential catastrophic economic malaise by sending financial aid ($2000 for four months) to millions of Canadians (my own income has been cut by over 40%) as well as a small business package consisting of a $40 000 loan (of which 25% or $10 000 will come in the form of a subsidy) which will have a massive negative effect on our growth and wealth as debt rises.

As of now, 10 million North Americans are out of work.

The only person who seems to grasp the 'unintended consequences' of this is Donald Trump.

And by the sound of it, Quebec's Premier Francois Legault.

The former is speaking more with a sense of urgency, while the latter is still willing to play it slowly.

So what's the problem? The problem is businesses will close perhaps permanently and have pushed an already overly indebted population into further debt. For example, in my case, I just expanded my business and already carry a high business debt. I have to continue to service this debt. Now I have to take on more debt to service that debt.

This is a recipe for disaster for many.

The government can play these games as they have the power to either increase taxes (which is coming) or print more money (as they do in the USA - the rise of the popularity of MMT gibberish is another major problem pointing to an intellectual breakdown. The stimulus in the United States is the biggest deformed monstrosity in history. It's like King Kong, Godzilla and Bernie Sanders had a baby) thus threatening inflation and devaluing a dollar.

I don't think people who are basically on a paid vacation shielded by all this actually grasp the potential 'backlash' this Lizard's tail can unleash upon everyone.

The question is: Once all is said and done, will it be determine that we over reacted? We'll see.

The Federal Liberals don't share this sentiment.

Which is not surprising given their ideological rhetoric since 2015 that have undermined Canada.

I lay the blame completely at their feet. They refused to take action when nations were notified of the outbreak in January. China and WHO are the culprits responsible for not notifying the world much earlier with the former choosing instead to cover it up while the latter ignoring information from Taiwan. By January, they fessed up and Canada failed to act.

When it became obvious we should close down airspace from countries forming the epi-center of the virus, our leaders thoughtlessly and irresponsibly chose to play the SJW game.

As if this wasn't enough, by this time experts were probably able to ascertain a problem was arising, yet our government decided to send equipment to China oblivious to the possible reality we were going to need it ourselves.

It's one thing to social engineer on the periphery by naming tokens to positions of power in board rooms but quite another when this mindset permeates into matters of national safety and security.

They then didn't bother to focus on producing kits and trying to get ahead of it. Quebec tried its best, but it has limited resources. I get the sense Ottawa and the provinces just couldn't get on the same page fast enough. It's hard when you have a Federal government that's from Mars.

Trudeau himself give the impression of being detached and not fully understanding what's at stake. Rather, one may get the sense he's looking for his 'just watch me' moment as his image continues to sag to pathetic levels among people endowed with an observant and enlightened mind.

Don't be fooled by Trudeau, Hajdu (who continues to play stupid ideologue games) and Tam. Or Freeland or Blair or anyone else out there repeating health jargon. They tried to reverse course but by that time, like fools, it was too late.

They're behaviour and manner of governance is how you foster alienations, ferment anger and end up with a polarized and fractured population. The results of the last election revealed this as Liberals were fired in Quebec and the West - led by Alberta.

How they handled the pandemic didn't help to ease this friction.

They were not proactive. They were reactive.

As a result, they shut us down.

They failed a nation.

They literally chose ideology over our health.

We the people have to demand accountability.

Trump is threatening to withhold money from the WHO.

Good.

His concerns about the economy and not falling for Chinese propaganda gives me hope. I wish it were the same here in Canada.

For those of us not obsessed with focusing on Trump, we keep our eye on the ball where it belongs: China and the WHO.

They must account.

We're seeing people snitch on one another sometimes with the encouragement of public officials.

If you're one to snitch, you're a coward. Not a hero.

As seen on the Internet:

“If you are willing to snitch on someone outside during the Coronoavirus, you would have snitched on Anne Frank and Harriet Tubman”

I agree with this sentiment.
