Simplistic World Views

Someone asked me what I thought of this site. The first thing that hit me was:

Occam's Razor misapplied.

For people who consider themselves to be progressive purveyors of critical thought, they sure know how to simplify things.

Which reminded me of John Locke. Locke believed in pursuing knowledge through rigorous empiricism best achieved by overcoming instinctive speculation and obtuse deduction and permit experiment of "sensitive knowledge."

Too often we take a picture, for example, that seems so obvious in its content, at face value without delving further into it. Even the ones we take for granted, especially those, must be investigated. Sites as this one mentioned in the link, fail to do this. Why? Well, to fill its own preconceived knowledge. It's, to put it another way, easier that way.
