Exiling Trump

The other day I watched a clip of Biden tell a child during a speech she looked like '19 year-old with he legs crossed that way'. In the annals of Creepy Sleepy Joe's inappropriate comments and behavior in public with women and girls, this was one of the most troubling episode.

It also revealed once and for all the hypocrisy of people.

For people who were filled with false virtue and faux righteousness under Trump have not transferred their feigned morality to Biden.

Or his son Hunter who is a troubled man who has engaged in immoral and criminal activities. Recently, it was discovered on his laptop (the one ignored by people and media) he had repeatedly said 'nigger' during a conversation.

Silence.

Imagine if Trump or Trump's kids had said that.

With Republicans, the standard by which they'e judged is only as high or low as the media and left set it at. And usually that means a simple unsubstantiated charge of 'white supremacist' or a comment pulled out of context or a loose affiliation to a shady person or organization is enough whereas with Democrats not even being caught in the act with their own words garners a rebuke let alone outrage.

Indeed, if it weren't for double standards there'd be no standards at all.

This may be dismissed as politics but is it? It's politics when the intended targets are political but the decision to burn down the house so to speak to destroy Trump spilled over into civil society.

Everyone got a bad case of irrational Trump Derangement Syndrome. It got to a point they believed nothing he said or did and believed every single perceived bad thing he said or did however badly distorted. They took extreme positions on both.

That is, they fell hard for one of the biggest lies in American history with the Russia hack/collusion story. They impeached a President dragging a nation through a spectacle of lies where they chased evidence to fit a narrative. That's not how the law works. Trump was so bad they believed, it had to have done it.

To other extreme, they believed he told people to drink bleach or Lysol during the pandemic in 2020. They believed Trump was so dumb, illiterate, 'anti-science' and evil that he went before the public to tell people to drink poison.

They lost all sense of balance and rational thought.

They believe in what the TV was telling them. They accepted a caricature of an individual who was too easy a target given his brash braggadocio and uncompromising disposition. He wasn't easy on the ears for many. He was too different a leader they had become accustomed to. People were used to the smooth talking deceiver politicians are infamous for. It's all on script and carefully orchestrated. Where Obama deliberately used his position to build his brand accomplishing very little other than rhetorical musings, Trump was an off the cuff brawler man of action.

But what was missed was a key message as they shot the - albeit imperfect - messenger.

America was experiencing its greatest economic boom in modern American history. America was largely at peace avoiding unnecessary wars having not started one culminating into landmark Arab-Israeli peace treaties. America was on track to fix the illegal immigration crisis. America did improve environment conservation.  America was pushing back on a globalist agenda that all nations would have benefitted from. America reformed its tax code as well among other things.

Trump, despite the entire system piled on against him, achieved tangible achievements.

Then the Corona virus hit and we know how this is playing out but won't be discussed further here. But i will say it is not out of the realm of possibility, given the pure blind rage against Trump, this may have been the piece de resistance to take him out.

Now the Democrats are back in power and what do we see? Same old crap and then some. They're enjoying the economy left behind (an actual success easily attributable to Trump. No, Obama did not leave a good economy. That he declares it doesn't make it so), allowing for chaos at the border (though they are keeping place a key sensible initiated by Trump to help countries where migrants leave with aid in order to prevent a 'brain drain') and revving up that war machine while Russia sees a weak leader to exploit, Iran emboldened and China in cruise control.

The situation at the moment is a tinder box waiting to explode and it takes Trump not Biden to keep the peace.

One would have thought once gone, and back in civilian life, Trump would be ignored but this is not what's happening. Which is interesting. How much of a threat is he really to 'Interest Inc.?' The banning of Trump by Facebook (in a bitter twist of irony given the company lifted the ban on discussing the virus came from a lab in which Trump first believed. Calling it 'bio-engineered was deemed a 'conspiracy theory' by the illegitimate gatekeepers of social media and its merry band of illiterate ignoramuses. And with Fauci in communication with Zuckerberg as the emails leaks show, it's not that hard to see why they assaulted Trump's account) had the whiff of Napoleon's final exile to St-Helena.

But there's another analogy that can be drawn.

The Middle-Ages was an age of pure reason. The perception of this period being dark is not accurate. Part of this is because of the crafts of alchemy and astrology and magic were popularized in pop culture. But the fact remains this era brought us the first Universities and the discipline of the 'Scholastic' method with its focus on reason and logic. The philosopher Peter Abelard was of its most influential proponents.

But Peter was a highly controversial and arrogant individual so his contemporaries were reluctant to give him credit despite being the greatest mind of his time. His works on placing reason over faith eventually won the day, but his approach (and a dramatic love affair) was such that he constantly got himself in trouble finding himself moving around a lot to manage his unfavourable reputation. But his abilities could not be denied and was always in demand until his death. His legacy left a lasting and undeniable impact on Western philosophy.

I see an analogy in there with Trump. Trump's message is actually a much needed one. I'm not arguing he's a grand intellect on the scale of Abelard but the point is sometimes hard and difficult people do the heavy lifting of what needs done.

As mentioned above, shooting the messenger gets you nowhere.

The latest move by Facebook is the 'system' insisting on giving Trump the Abelard treatment.

But will it kill the message?
