I think we're shattering records of stupidity in the age of Covid-19.
While people have succumbed and slumbered into assuming this is norma behaviour during a public health crisis, let not their ignorance confirm it.
It's not normal. Not to the shocking degree we're witnessing.
The assault on civil liberties is an abomination. A failure so spectacular, citizens will have to reconsider and reconfigure whether they want to be free or not. It would appear fear of a public health threat is enough for them to give up their rights.
From the boarding up of Churches, to banning of right to assembly, to locking down businesses, to arresting if not physically attacking peaceful protestors, to curfews, to issuing tickets to people who break decreed emergency measures, to limits on private gatherings, right up to mask mandates, it's been a travesty not seen in the West for 'public health'.
The amount of incoherent messaging mixed with needles fear mongering, we've seen stupidity personified as public officials run the other way from actual data refusing to put into proper context for people the threat of the virus.
It's been a spectacular failure.
And it could have largely been avoided with some true and courageous leadership.
