A poll conducted by Politico shows a majority of Americans favour mass mass mandates (MMM) and levying fines against people.

This is terrifying and shows we need to now fear people more than the government.
It's amazing, depressingly amazing that is, how quick people are to jettison their civil liberties. Imagine taking this poll 80-100 years ago when we faced far worse. Our mettle is weak now.
Just what we need. Government policy being dictated by fear AND the virus.
What can go wrong?
We're at a critical point now and it doesn't look like we're going to get the leadership we need to avoid going into this direction. We're changing the trajectory of our lives based on this.
The data is showing the virus is weaker, isn't as lethal, and that mass masks are a shot in the dark.
They're not following science. They're following the herd.
And because we're ruled by incompetent derelicts, they let themselves be influenced by clueless and arrogant public health officials and a population thoroughly entrenched in fear.
How is this not a mass hysteria again?

Dr. Fauci wasn't informed about the White House briefing yesterday. Add that the Trump administration has ordered that hospitals aren't to report figures to the CDC and we get Fauci being frozen out.
Fauci has been passively-aggressively undermining Trump and he crossed a Rubicon when he claimed how Cuomo handled NY was a model while still claiming schools should close despite the evidence kids are safe. It's malice at this point because shutting schools is basically a lockdown by other means. Millions of people will be forced to rearrange their lives and not for the better.
Malice.
Cuomo should be in handcuffs.
Fauci is like Quasimodo who lived deep beneath the Notre-Dame Cathedral. For 35 years Fauci lurked within the bowels of NIH with not much to do. At least Quasimodo had a bell to ring. Fell in love with Esmerelda.
Or another analogy is to Erik playing his organ. The Phantom of the CDC/NIH.
When he came up during the pandemic it was his moment to shine. "Finally! People know who I am!" He became a rock star - in part thanks to the irrational hate of Trump - as he posed as a reasoned voice early during the pandemic. And then he slowly descended into a well where political machinations ruled eventually coming off like Norma Desmond as the politics and virus left him behind.
Gee, three cultural references for the good doctor.
