Italy: We Didn't Leave The EU; The EU Left Us; Germany Playing A Familiar Role

If Italy has a voice, this is what they could be saying during the Covid-19 health crisis.

The European Union does an awful lot of romantic talking about solidarity and respect. But in the last five years or so, it's been less about solidarity and more with Germany (and to a lesser extent France) throwing their faux-righteous weight around more and more.

I mentioned during the Greek loan crisis that if Germany keeps behaving in this way, they'd be the root of another war. Or at least, the driver that leads to the dissolution of the Union. In that episode, the Germans expressed concerned and frustration, with merit, for Greek financial irresponsibility. However, it was pushed to a point it could have led to ill-will within the Union.

You can't have countries like Greece and Germany - polar opposites in every way imaginable - and expect to have a symbiotic relationship in a technocratic state governed from Brussels. It's bound to have friction. And it seems the friction is getting worse and worse as the  challenged keep rising.

Germany needs to learn on how to pick their battles.

The financial crisis was then followed by the migrant crisis - largely of Germany's doing.

When countries like Greece and Italy asked for help in return, the Germans said no. And when those countries - particularly Italy - decided to protect the integrity of their borders because help wasn't forthcoming German NGO's arrogantly ignored them.

The Germans have been playing with fire for the last five years. Their 'we're gonna compassion you to death' shtick was beginning to grate as even Central Europe was beginning to push back on their agenda.

Did the Germans back off? Nope. They double-downed.

Now Germany has drawn the ire or Italy in its shameless act of denying the country a helping hand during the Covid-19. I have a cousin in Italy who sent an email: Italexit. Now.

Ironic given that it may have been a German tourist who first introduced the virus to Italy. It's like 476 AD all over again! Meanwhile, the main county at fault China is not only coming out of the crisis and getting back to normal but are coming out smelling like roses because they're sending medical supplies for the virus to Italy and Spain. They're playing us like a fiddle and the Western media (especially on the progressive left) are eating it all up like a porn star drinks cum at a Bukkake.

What Italy should have done was prepare a stimulus package, announce they're leaving the Euro and reintroduce the Lira.

As if these two examples of German arrogance wasn't enough.

Now Angela 'The Hobbit' Merkel - rising from Middle-Earth has decided she will play petty politics by whipping up anti-American sentiment while engaging in the usual anti-Trump rhetoric (the Surgeon-General and Gov. Cuomo (NY) have both expressed support for Trump in the face of irresponsible (fake news) yellow journalism on full display) by fostering a lie in the Die Welt (I've never forgotten the outright racism of Der Spiegel mocking Italians during the World Cup in 2006. They claimed it was a joke but it sure didn't read as one. Maybe it's true. Germans aren't very funny people at all) claiming Trump to buy a German pharma company.

Oh. Not enough for you?

Here's Merkel:

Chancellor Angela Merkel has addressed German citizens in a televised speech saying "since WWII there has never been a challenge for our country in which acting in solidarity was so very crucial" and called on people to help tackle the spread of COVID-19 by sticking to rules

Charming.

What possibly go wrong when Germans follow the rules like unthinking robots?

Merkel has been poison for the union.

If Germany doesn't knock it off, they will have been the principle drivers of the the European Dissolution.
