Death Of Green Lawns

I think I've figured out why hay fever is on the rise and seems more vicious these days. It's tied to our lawns. Once upon a time we were allowed to use chemicals to kill of rag weed that grows on our grass. We'd spray it in the spring and we'd be good to go for the summer. Of course, such chemicals have been outlawed here in Quebec and Ontario and the result is, and I'm just musing here, more sneezing and watery eyes. To say nothing of weed infested lawns.

  1. All along our street people have contracts with several outfits using legal products and no ragweed is in sight. Our grass has never been greener, when it rains of course.

  2. Yeah, if you're lucky enough to have everyone doing it. The second someone allows their lawn to be infested it spreads like the plague and only poison can kill it.

Even my parents are having a hard time warding off the weed and they live in an upscale suburb where people take care of their lawns.
