Citizens are looking to secede from Colorado and form a new state: North Colorado.
Basically, they see legislation passed by Democrats as running contrary to their values.
I can totally see this happening more and more. The 'one-size fits all top-down' approach is bound to eventually jolt people into action specifically when it comes to regional issues like urban and rural areas. The needs for each are different. People are increasingly frustrated with politicians who simply ignore their demands.
I thought the gun-control debate was going to be a leitmotif for people connecting or reconnecting to the ideals of personal liberty.
Has government over-reach arrived courtesy of the Democratic party?
It's now very much a values thing.
Anyway.
Here in Canada, we're not without our secessionist agitation. Western alienation and Quebec independence remains with the latter giving rise to murmurs of Montreal separating from Quebec should it split from Canada.
In the U.S. libertarians are mobilizing and have chosen New Hampshire to begin their march towards power.
We'll see how all this plays out.
