Of Delusion And Denial And Destruction

You know the whole system in Quebec is out of whack when...

We're looking to hire an educator for our (PROUDLY) private daycare. While there's no shortage of great candidates, it's tough to attract them when you're up against the government machine.

One candidate decided to wait for a higher paying government post. You know things are askew when the government has the upper hand in paying salaries with money they don't generate.

It's an irrational situation. How can a government position pay more than a private one? Think of it.

Of course, it explains in part why YOUR taxes are excessively high and among the highest on the continent.

Our entire mindset MUST change. It's why I see states like Wisconsin and Michigan as real bell weather states about what may happen in the future. It has to reverse itself to a more acceptable equilibrium. It won't happen under Obama but it will.

California, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts are states NOT to emulate.

Working to ensure someone else's public pension and security through coerced and corrupt action while you have none on your own because you happen to be in the private sector is plain immoral.

As for Quebec, it has the longest trek back to fiscal sanity. A "union" anti-private mentality, something or someone will have to trigger a change.

If I sound too "extreme" then all the better. I've witnessed to much BS these past three years.

The new hyphenated name to look out for on the student push for free tuition is Jeremie Bedard-Wien. Which means he'll be the next leftie-pinko drafted by the PQ, QS or NDP.

While Europe increasingly moves AWAY from free and in some cases low tuition, Quebec is entertaining this potential fiscal nightmare.

In a province where corruption is the RULE rather than the exception, one has to but laugh (and later cry) and the craziness of even thinking about this.

The students are threatening to strike. I don't know. If you give in, you've set a poor precendence and when the time comes to pay the bills (remember you essentially have a tiny labor force to tax in Quebec - it's pretty much overstrained as it is), you won't be able to reverse the madness.

I don't understand why the government is treating the students as if they're elected officials.

The answer should be simple: No.

If you argue otherwise, you're irresponsible and in denial of the financial anarchy in our midst.

It's almost as if we're addicted to welfarism.

Talk of reintroducing tolls on bridges has been rather sustained over the last few months. The thinking is to raise money for infrastructure upkeep and the like as opposed to raising taxes.

Whatever we do, you can bet it will end up in tatters wallowing in corruption. I'm pretty sure that's what happened the last time around.

Anyone following the Charbonneau Commission?

What a mess.

The transformational figure, turns out, isn't so keen with Congressional Democrats. Of course he isn't. He acts like a King. That's some list against him.

Yet, he got reelected.

Go figure.

The thing is, I don't think you'd see this under Romney. Romney was too mainstream to be so aloof and cold. Romney, I reckon, is less of an ideologue than Obama.

Where there's smoke there's fire...

Liberals thought conservatives were "paranoid" about the possibility of the government coming after 401ks. The thing is, they've been talking about this for a few years now.

It's looking like it can become a reality. The government will offer "advice" on how to manage your money.

Technically, it is true, North America isn't socialist. But in practice, we're more and more so.

In Canada, we have RRSPs. The thinking was it was time for people to save for their own future as opposed to relying on OAS. If you don't have nothing to fall back on or don't work for a government with a generous pension plan, you should save.

The government, ironically, sends signals about the pending doom but are we listening?

In the meantime, they'll raid pension plans and now, it looks like, you're personal savings, to pay for Peter's excessive giving to Paul...and Mary....and Brandi....and Lolita....and LeShawna....and...

It's the only way because they're broke. Again, Obama is showing ZERO interest in doing anything substantial about it because it will interfere with his liberal, welfare agenda.

That's just my impression.

This is rich. The Federal government is suing S&P.

Outrageous really.

The government helped to make a mess of this and they REFUSE to accept any responsibility.

Criminal politicians? Nah.

Obama's take on "leadership" on full display here. I guess it's one way to "fix" Bush up.

America is on a destructive roll.

Quote of the day:

"...A person steals guns, (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), shoots and kills his own mother (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), transports these guns loaded (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), brings guns onto school property (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), breaks into the school (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), discharges the weapons within city limits (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), murders 26 people (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW), and commits suicide (WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW).

And there are people in this country that somehow think passing ANOTHER LAW banning guns would protect us from someone like this. If you haven't noticed, people like this are not concerned about breaking laws - they only care about fulfilling their own twisted agenda."

Who is being irrational?
