Butler's Impact On Canadian History

Putzing around the internet I came across Sir William Francis Butler. An Irish adventurer who helped established the North West Mounted Police which later morphed into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The R.C.M.P? Never heard of them.

Butler once said:

"The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards."

  1. I misread the title of this post. Was going to comment because I thought it said Butter's Impact On Canadian History.

    Never mind.
