Bombardier Running Scared With Scare Tactics

Want something for nothing? Just scream "disastrous" or "catastrophic" consequences and see how fast the cash comes in.

Bombardier is playing that game with the Metro contract:

Bombardier Inc. and its French partner Alstom SA have taken the unusual step of warning the city’s transit authority and provincial and municipal politicians that a would-be rival supplier from Spain lacks the chops to fill such a large order. The letter goes onto say that any further delays in an already prolonged bidding process could have “disastrous consequences” for the authority and transit users.
Not buying it. Call their bluff I say and lets see what happens. G'ahead. Make my day, punk.

Corporate Bumbardier is merely flexing its political muscles but I find it hard to believe they're the only ones capable of meeting this demand.

I recall something in history about Carnegie steel sending a scary letter to potential buyers of their rival's (J.P. Morgan)steel, claiming it might "lack homogeneity."

Then on bought out the other and the letters were forgotten and the Morgan manufacturing method continued.
