More On The Debate; Canada Should Vote; And More

As usual, sitting back and watch liberals spin the unspinnable is entertaining.

Huffington rarely disappoints.

Hey, they can chant all they want about the obstructionism of the GOP but the bottom line is the Democrats had both houses for two years. And for a long time before that.

This excuse, like dumping on Bush, has past its expiration of usage.

It's just whining on their part. When the Republicans were voted in, it was their job to halt Obama and they did. In terms of "reaching out" I don't know who failed there, but seems to me it's the President's job to make it work - and he didn't. I think Romney hit another zinger when he said he governed over a state in Massachusetts with 87% Democrats.

The thing is, Obama was fresh out of ideas and thoughts about repackaging those ideas into an inspirational and articulate format for viewers.

It's not over. There are two other debates. But it won't be easier for the President. Even the one on foreign policy will be challenging for Obama. "Being Obama" clearly wasn't enough and I expect Romney, if he stays on cue and form, will hammer Obama about the Middle-East.

Obama still holds the big states. Until Romney can sway them Ohioans and Pennsylvanians, it'll be tough. Romney is carrying the "wrong" states.

As usual, Canadians have watched and listened with keen interest. The hard reality is it does matter what happens down there as it directly affects Canada.

So much so, I reckon, that maybe we should get a vote like Puerto Ricans have.

Gore blames altitude.

Maybe.

We hear about this in sports a lot. Teams that go into Denver to take on the Avalanche, Nuggets and Broncos have to adjust. It's the same in soccer.

But teams tend to adjust and discount this by preparing properly.

So the question is not the venue but why wasn't the President prepared?

Happy anniversary President.

Nice move.

I bet Obama staffers were looking to book him on The View or Letterman during the debate to get his "credibility" up by increasing his "cool factor.

The thing I don't get is, ok. They blame Bush for everything. But the President did claim he would be able to cut the deficit and create jobs during his first term with his plan. Evidently, he didn't and so he lazily falls back on blaming Bush. The most Obama did was "stabilize" the economy but he didn't achieve what he said he would.

That's fine. That happens.

However, the thing is the tools used to stabilize were the bail outs, TARP, stimulus and all other taxpayer dollars used to stimulate companies and the economy were all started under Bush. On one hand, Obama blames Bush for the deficits but on the other hand takes credit for the stabilizing an economy in its worst state since the depression.

SPENDING leads to deficits not tax cuts.

Some charts to dispell tax cuts reduce revenues and that the unemployment rate soared after them:

More on unemployment here.

Wondering. What would be the reaction had a Republican or conservative come up with "Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive."

Quote of the day from a commenter at the WaPo:

"Right now, David Axelrod is asking a crying Barack Obama: "Show me on the doll where the bad man touched you."
From the same commenter:

Obama invested TAXPAYER money in:

- Solyndra - BANKRUPT
- Ener1 - BANKRUPT
- Beacon Power - BANKRUPT
- Abound Solar - BANKRUPT
- Amonix Solar - BANKRUPT
- SpectraWatt - BANKRUPT
- Eastern Energy - BANKRUPT

Yes, but don't you see the big picture?
