Life Cycle Of The Bureaucracy

Sounds about right.

  1. The average workplace in the US is divided in this way: 1 third of workers are more than competent, 1 third of workers are adequate, and 1 third are incompetent.

Unfortunately, the 1 third who are above average are also the most likely to have lower seniority and, therefore, will likely be laid off first in tough times. This forces the downward spiral toward implosion.

These are not facts, just observations over the past 45 years or so.

  2. At least the incompetent form the minority in your scenario!

Where does Michael Scott fall under?

Well, I can only speak in reference to my brief 10 year stint at the bank and there are plenty of incompetent people in high positions.

    It was ghastful.

As for the government, it's rather clear that a lot of folks with limited skills and talent are getting to the top. Even the bureaucracy is littered with myopic drones making decisions for us.

Alas, it's what I see in my industry. It's disgusting really.
