So obsessive nationalists are with it, it comes at the expense of even safety.
For example, public transit and highway signs are strictly in French.
So fearful they are, that providing information that could save a life is seen as a threat.
It points not to the strength of French-Quebec culture, it proves its weakness.
Hence, the laws and pointless attitude towards English in public.
They claim English-speakers are "hostile" to French but this is pure bull. It's simply not true. It's paranoia to justify their unfortunate behavior.
It does seem the average Quebecer in Montreal wants nothing to do with language zealots, and young Quebecers may come to reject parties like the PQ given the global world we live in.
I hope.
Only then will French truly find out if it can live at peace not with English; but with itself.
