It costs roughly $5000 per head (and increasing rapidly) annually for Canadian public health privileges.
Stated otherwise, presuming this is pre-tax and assuming it's the correct way of looking at it, if you make $45 000 a year, you're making $40 000. In the U.S., it costs about $7000 per head. We spend less than the U.S., but lead most OECD countries in terms of cost, yet we're one of the worst performing systems in the OECD. But "loosening" government control of public health is a faux pas here.
