10 Myths In American Health

I get emails from Pacific Research Institute regarding the American health care debate. I'm not sure how I got on the email list but the main author, Sally Pipes, must sure be hated by liberals. If anything, it offers a counter-point to what the Democrats are saying.

I love Top 10 lists and here's one listing 10 myths about American health care. It's 190 pages - hey, it's far less than 2700 pages, right?

Bah. She's just another irrational right-wing nut case probably funded by the Teabaggers. Right? Right.

What I don't get is this. Democrats keep saying the GOP is obstructionist. Ok. But don't they have the majority? It looks as though the real battle is among Democrats themselves. What's interesting to Canadians, is that in our system, no matter how rancorous the debate about an issue in the end the PM has final say. He doesn't have to go making deals with his own party. MPs "fall" into line and vote with the party. In American politics, the President has less power and engages in the art of politics by selling his idea (s)  and ultimately himself to all politicians in Congress. It makes for one wild political ride.
