Like I said, Quebec is moving backwards against the flow of our Renaissance humanism and the Age of Enlightenment heritage. America moves forward - bruised and battered perhaps but determined to push forward.

The other day I was at the cash paying for an item at Hallmark when a woman rudely interrupted my transaction to complain to the cashier that there weren't enough products in French in the store.
Aside from the nuisance of harassing a cashier (I once witnessed a Quebec nationalist bully a young, gentle teller - a colleague - for having the audacity to have mistakenly taken during a rush a deposit slip in English. I still remember that asshole's name. He made everyone tremble in the place until I decided to warn my manager about his making his visits to our bank political. It wasn't until I faced his wrath did I unleash on him. It seems he wasn't happy I answered the phone in English first and then French (in a heavily Anglo demographic by the way where 90% of the clientele was English-speaking so the fucker was lucky I even said anything French because we all knew if we didn't we'd face some jerkoff complaining. In other words, we spoke a language more out of fear than respect. Anyway, rather than explain what he needed he went into a tirade demanding an explanation why I did so. I told him to quit making a political scene everytime he visits us to which he had the balls to say "I'm not making this political!" It is in that little sentence I realized just how far removed from reality and the culture of respect nationalists had become. They were incapable of seeing what their actions did to other people simple because in their parochial minds, they were justified all in the name of defending their culture. The overall health of a culture ain't worth shit when you treat fellow citizens in such a manner. I digress), the woman's complaint was a tired and predictable one in Quebec.
Par for the course.
My daughter was too busy inflating my bill to pay any attention but had she done so, I would have taken the opportunity to talk about the cult of victimhood, self-respect, the importance of treating people with utmost respect, that mixing politics with culture in a civil setting is absurd and toxic, and so on.
A teachable moment if you will. To prep her for what's coming because she will have her 'parle moi en francais' encounter.
I'm just glad my wife is on the same page as me in terms of keeping our options open for our daughter. We do feel it's time to move on from here.
Anyway.
I wanted to tell that old hag "Renaud-Bray is that way and the OLF is the other way, bitch."
Better yet, hows 'bout you go open yourself a little fucking store or kiosque that way you can sell any fucking item you want to. How about that you whiny, complaining little trouble maker?
If Quebec is annoyed by newcomers worried they won't comply with out ways, then why have immigration from those parts of the world to begin with? Same with businesses. If they can't barely accept English items always feeling threatened, why allow American companies in to begin with? I mean, if they had any real balls they'd innovate and create their own dynamic free-market economy.
Right.
Too busy complaining and engaging in anti-business rhetoric.
We should stick to what we're good at: Being a branch-plant economy waiting for the Americans to invest capital here and create wealth.
Harsh, T.C., harsh!
