During the 1980s, Peter Lougheed was the ubiquitous face of Alberta politics and dare I say, even Canadian politics. He was the man driving Alberta's surgence in the Confederacy. Often at odds with a stale Quebec and Ottawa looking for its cash, Alberta symbolized Canadian revitalization and Lougheed helped engineer and steer it in that direction.
Canada needs more men of vision. I don't see many.
