Now, I listen enough to Boston radio (don't ask), to know the town of Peabody mentioned in the article is pronounced Pea-biddy. Not Peabody as reported. I find it interesting that journalists make this sort of mistake.
Sorta like saying Edin-berg as opposed to Edin-burra.
Anyway.
Was the town named after this guy pictured here?
Well, interesting this should come up. I work in customer service, on the telephone, and recently mispronounced this very town's name to a customer who lives there, thinking, as you obviously did, of good old Mr. Peabody, and certain this was one name I wouldn't, couldn't get wrong, but I was wrong, though let's face it, it SHOULD be pronounced Pea Body!
