Quote Of The Day

“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?”

Bastiat. Always Bastiat.

My father in law (may he rest in peace) was a pious man. When we spoke of religion he would simply tell me for him, it was a personal relationship with God. Everyone in between were just mortals and vulnerable to all of man's virtues and vices.

  1. So THAT explains everything.
All the corruption; sex offenses; social class disparities; favoritism: illegal campaign contributions: Watergate; riots.
It's actually human nature? Human frailty?
