I don't think a government shutdown is gonna stop WWII vets.
I'm gonna go on a limb here, I mean it's a real long shot I know given the cries, but I'm pretty sure life will go on without the federal government in full operation.
Someone on the radio brought up a good point. If a Federal Zoo is shut down no revenues come in but you still have to feed the animals. Your fixed costs remain so if anything the shutdown accomplishes little in terms of actual savings. It probably will cost more.
As to who is to blame, to borrow from Hilary, what difference does it make at this point? It's not like Obama has been sterling with his budgets.
But wait there's more. If you didn't think Obama is perhaps one of the most cynical of politicians, consider that the White House denied WWII vets visit the memorial because of the shutdown.
This is pretty low even by his standards.
I know. Assume the chorus: It's Bush's fault.
