Shutdown: Call The Bluff

Will the shutdown lead to a recession as Obama alleges?

Obama says a lot of emotionally driven, unsubstantiated things to protect his reputation so I'm gonna bet no it won't. If it does, it's for other factors.

I'm gonna go with a variation of Pascal's Wager and bet it won't because most of the people affected are civil servants. It's still, however, business as usual for the rest of the work force that's actually doing the producing and wealth creation. Not to mention government employees will get their wages paid anyway.

Call the bluff. Life goes on without the government.

Especially government websites (even those "private" ones that exist on grants and funding) no one visits.

I'd like to believe this is a self-inflicted purge of waste.
