It is my personal opinion science has been great harmed by this pandemic.
The lack of perspective, reliance on bad data and science, intermingling with corporate interest and politics has been astonishing and has led to deaths.
Living aside the specious pseudo-science of social distancing, masks and lockdowns, another debate that has taken centre stage has been HCQ.
The data and literature on its usage to treat high risk patients early is irrefutable. As solid as evidence can come. There's not reason to not administer it. It's a drug doctors are very familiar with having been part of the medical system for decades.
Yet Dr. Fauci, the CDC and FDA deny doctors to use it.
Why?
Here in Canada, we don't use it.
If they game is to save every single life (the basis of using masks or locking down), then why not use this inexpensive, simple and effective treatment?
Instead, we sophomorically focus on non-pharma measures with limited effectiveness.
Like usual, the media has proven itself to be useless in not getting the truth to the people choosing instead, like The Washington Post, to play politics. All because Trump. When they say 'follow the science' you know they're actually following politics.
How is denying patients access to such treatments almost certainly led to deaths that could possibly have been saved (leaving aside the decision to send infected patients back into nursing homes and hooking patients up to ventilators which led to their deaths, only compounded the misery) on the part of agencies and the people who head them not medical malpractice?
Heaven help us and deliver us from the hands of incompetent psychopaths.
