Despite Democrats reeling at the polls and under going a complete rebuke from the people, they still have one key token in their pocket: the media.
We all know the entire entertainment machine runs Democrat. You see it. You just have to connect the dots.
We're seeing this unfold right before our eyes with the immigration story of kids being separated from their families.
It matters none this was happening throughout Obama's administration. No one seemed to care then. Gee, I wonder why. Suddenly, someone circulates pictures about kids in cages misattributed to Trump and the faux-outrage machine goes into full mental breakdown mode. Those pictures? They were from 2009-2014. Who was President then? Who was your daddy?
But damage done. People saw what they saw and what they saw translates into holding an irrational visceral hate for Trump.
The nitty-gritty of who actually enacted this law is really complicated because it involves so many intricate and nuanced, shall we say, interpretations. Safe to say, it's not *just* Trump who has done it. In fact, as far as I can tell, this goes back to 1996 under Clinton. Remember, immigration was an issue in the 1990s and a lot of the rhetoric you hear from Trump pretty much echoes what was said then. And quite frankly, in my opinion, they were right then and still are today.
Think of it. Obama could do no wrong. He inherited a mess! It could only do so much against an 'obstructionist' GOP!
What do you think is fricken happening here? Trump inherited this mess from Obama.
It's political loser. He had to sign an executive order. People demanded he does so. The same people probably disapprove of Congress which is the legislative body that's supposed to be dealing with this stuff. And if the GOP 'obstructed' how is the antics of Schumer and the DNC not the same when they say they don't want to talk immigration reform but want to 'keep the focus on Trump'? Never mind the hate about his wall is way over blown since it's recently come to light it's basically a Democrat initiative from 2006.
But the optics reflect poorly on Trump because the media is overwhelming left-wing, liberal or progressives. Outside the Fox circle (which even within its ranks there aren't that many true conservatives or libertarians - for that you have to go to the 'intellectual dark web'), you have a massive wall of left-wing narratives. Conservatives are forever condemned to acts of defensiveness.
So you get little cute phrases like Trump is 'Backing down' and Trudeau saying 'is not right what the U.S. is doing' and politicians holding hands or pointing fingers, TV pundits breaking down in tears, others going on Twitter rants.

The psychotic breakdown theater is something to behold.
Don't be fooled. This is all crocodile tears from people who knew damn well this was happening under Obama. Where was their so-called integrity then? What was wrong with their moral compass for eight years? Why weren't they thinking of the children? WHY?!
Right. They chose to side with Barry over principles. Principals over principles as it were.

To this fact, there's no way conservatives or libertarians could ever hit back or deal with. As generally a pragmatic and reasoned bunch where rational thought is the final arbiter of thought, there's not way this side can respond. Not unless they want to 'outcrazy crazy'.
Even when liberal journalists like Greenwald (who pushes against the false Russia narrative) or excellent sites like The Daily Beast or magazines like MotherJones willing to report the facts (see link above about Obama's record), that's not enough to the howling jackasses. Shoot, I've seen people thrown Greenwald (and progressive show hosts like Jimmy Dore) to the wolves for having the temerity to not toe the progressive line!
These guys are looking for truth and answers. I may not agree with them but I respect them.
The others over at the NYT for example? Not so much.
This is where we're at folks. Know the landscape. Know when you're being played. I trust people will know the difference between being cynically lied to and legitimate policy criticism.
