Pinocchet was a right-wing dictator. However, it would be a mistake to continue believing the man he overthrew - Allende - was a sympathetic figure.
Allende's Chile would have become a totalitarian, technocratic, socialist shithole.
Perhaps even an evil one. Because, good intentions and socialism tend to breed evil.
So. Yeah. I kinda keep that in the back of my mind whenever reports about Allende without mentioning significant stuff like Project Cybersyn.
Chile today is on track to continue its prosperous and stable path.
In my opinion, it would not have had this under Allende.
You CAN'T PLAN OR CONTROL AN ECONOMY AND PEOPLE'S CHOICES.
