Painting Smoke And Mirrors Green

Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty is under fire for his $7 billion deal with Samsung for solar and wind generation farms.

Something tells me it's not just the turbines that will be spinning down the road.

As the article reports:

"...McGuinty said the Samsung investment will instantly make Ontario a leader in production of renewable energy hardware — wind turbines, solar inverters and solar modules — and argued he would be "all ears" if any other producers were willing to make equally large investments."
It'll make us a leader but I thought the whole point was to make us less dependent on not only oil but other countries as well. The Green revolution presented a great chance to make Canada a world leader with our own companies.

Like we didn't bother building an indigenous car industry during the industrial age, we're already starting off on the wrong foot with the green age.

Please. Someone with a better grip on these things. Comment. I'd like to know.

Shock! Quebec - wannabe Mini-Scandinavia - talks out of its ass (like all of Canada except Alberta) when it comes to the environment. I'm not surprised we aren't meeting Kyoto targets. We never do. No one ever does!

No one wants to pay the political price. Who could blame them?  Jean Chretien understood this better than anyone. He signed Kyoto knowing full well Canadians weren't gonna do squat about it. But it got him some votes. It's called gauging, projecting and playing politics. He was good at it. Very good.

It's all a scam. For "bella mossi" (for show) as we say in la lingua dell'arte.

Wait. Wait until that re-form-ist down south passes cap & trade. Then we'll really see the Ponzi scheme at it dizzying heights.

Just a hunch.
