NH Journal:
"New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen fled the scene of the vote Wednesday – following her decision to support President Obama’s controversial nominee for U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights.
Debo Adgebile represented Mumia Abu-Jamal – who was convicted of murdering a Philadelphia cop in 1982. In 2011, during which time Adgebile aided his appeal efforts, a death sentence was dropped to life without parole.
That Obama nominated him for a high-level position drew a firestorm of criticism that turned it into a major national issue. Both the Fraternal Order of Police and National Association of Police Officials fiercely opposed his nomination, going as far as to say Adgebile “made his name defending one of the most notorious and unrepentant cop killers around.”
“I think he’s well-qualified,” Shaheen quipped before dashing into an elevator and away from reporters.
“Senator Shaheen’s decision to blindly support another radical Obama Administration nominee serves as a reminder that she votes with the president 99 percent of the time instead of voting with New Hampshire. Once again, Jeanne Shaheen decided to take orders from President Obama and ignore serious concerns voiced by law enforcement officials and even fellow Democrat senators,” stated NHGOP chair Jennifer Horn in a press release."
Thankfully, there were seven Democrats with enough sense to draw the line and vote with Republicans.
There's something not right in Obama's ideologically driven brain.
