My wife likes to see the late night news headlines before moving on to another channel. One of them had PQ head hobbit Pauline Marois jokingly calmed Canadians that there would be no 'border' in order to cross Canada with a grin you want to smack straight across the face.
Rumor had it back in the day, Quebec would have a border if they separated. Not really realistic, given I don't know how they would pay for yet another bureaucratic department I don't know. Mind you, if they want independence how could Canada not impose its own territorial borders.
Of course, in the petty, parochial, childish mind of an independistes, this is unthinkable.
Quebec has never really sat and maturely talked about the details of separation, They're so incredibly blinded, irresponsible and shady, they think they'll declare "independence" and poof! Voila! 10th - or whatever crap they think - largest economy in the world! Life goes on! Pass the poutine!
And I'm to take these bozos seriously?
I've read and heard every single argument and excuse in the separatist handbook. So pathetically unsophisticated their positions, it's akin to a child in daycare.
Anyway. Since we can't stand her or her minions much, what being a bunch of regressive second-rate yokels, we changed the channel. But in those 10 seconds or so, the stench of their smug, misplaced arrogance is palpable.

It's interesting to note the majority of PQ candidates, like 99% of them, have always been so-called 'pure-laine' people of French-Canadian stock. Some may have Irish-Scot lineage somewhere down the line, and there have been the occasional Haitian (poor suckers) and Arab candidates. There have been Italians as well but they represent such a tiny minority they may as well be grouped in the 'fucking morons' category. Catelli Italians if you prefer. (For you Yanks, Catelli is a Canadian pasta maker).
Have you ever seen the great communities that grace our province sing the praises of the PQ? It's almost unthinkable those who hail from the Jewish, Chinese, Irish, Polish, Greek, Portuguese, Hungarian, Native and of course Italian communities would ever join them. That says a lot about where the PQ stands among us.
The only community that seems to gravitate to the PQ, and I reckon this will continue, is Arab. Maybe they like the fairy tale aspect of Quebecois self-victimhood. Bope.
I personally can't understand how for the life of me how any individual of non-Franco stock could even consider joining their ranks.
