"Give the government a chance to kill (as in the case of dying with dignity) and they will kill." Physician on Montreal radio.
Compassionate termination is a hot topic in Western countries these days. Quebec is the latest jurisdiction interested in it. The problem with this, of course, they say it will be under strict rules ans regulations but we're already seeing evidence to the contrary. Belgium, Holland, Germany and Oregon have all had assisted suicide on the books long enough to publish their findings in medical journals.
The skinny? It seems to confirm our fears. That it does open a slippery slope. Terminally ill suddenly was extended to mentally ill.
Follow it to its logical conclusion and you get?
I'll let you guess.
I would never consent to giving the state power over whether the kill me or not because they will kill me. Simple as that.
The government has no conscience to speak of so why even go this route?
Ethically and morally involving the government in this domain is not only plain wrong, it's downright evil. I wouldn't trust a bureaucrat further I could a criminal.
It's rather shocking and stunning how fast progressives are willing to abdicate their right to exist to other entities.
Let it be a private matter. It need not be enshrined in government policy.
