Toronto Blue Jays color - and former pitcher Jack Morris - basically called Boston Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz a cheater for throwing a spitball after they noticed on camera him slightly touching his forearm as if to line his fingers with a foreign substance. If Buchholz was cheating, he sure is skillful.
Here's the thing about pitchers who allegedly cheat. For years, whenever the camera would pan to the pitcher it would often show the tip of the cap. And with the reflection of the lighting one could clearly see something not unlike grease on the tip. Pitchers would often "adjust" their caps while at the same time lubricate their fingers.
No one has ever talked about it. It's not like you can expect professional journalists to question this. Too busy being chummying it up with the stars.
Maybe it was just one of those "unspoken" things in baseball but it was pretty obvious. It wasn't some pitchers it was a majority of them.
As Buchholz. Who knows? I know Dennis Eckersley went medieval on Morris's ass on I think it was the Red Sox channel with an ad hominen laced attack.
