Damn ESPN for getting me all excited with a potentially illuminating article "It's a golden age for leadoff hitters" only to be bitterly disappointed by the flawed methodology.
Any article that dips back into history showing all sorts of statistics gets my attention.
But if you're gonna compare eras I think it may be best to use a larger sample size than one lousy month. I would think it's important to be a little more diligent with statistics, no? I think I'll wait until September on this one - and even then it's ONE season.
Really.
I mean.
Come on.
Who clears these things?
