As for why, it's pretty simple. All those tobacco settlements in the 90's led not only to the ending of tobacco ads on TV, but also required cigarette manufacturers to spend smoe amount of money per year on anti-smoking advertising. Since then, anti-smoking advertisements have been designed by tobacco companies to make anti-smoking look stupid. It's genius, really.
