The strawman here? "We attack Jewish institutions because of Israeli policies."
Bull shit. We're in Canada and as long as you're here keep your dirty laundry elsewhere.
It's anti-semitic and it must be condemned strongly.

It'll be interesting to see who the culprits are this time around. Quebec has a long history of anti-semitic behavior.
Hateful rhetoric is alive and well.
Could we counter by saying "We attack Arab institutions because of the policies of their nations since the (re)creation of Israel in 1948?"
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, it is nothing more than anti-Jewish bigotry. I don't use the term "anti-semitic" because Arabs are also Semitic people, ironically.
Yes, it's just plain hatred of Jews. The issue of Israel is completely separate. It is no more justified than vandalizing a mosque after 9/11 would have been.
ReplyDeleteI think, though, that there is much more anti-Muslim bigotry in North America presently. Just look at the hysterical opposition to the "ground zero mosque". Could any respectable person (as was the case with that Islamic center) have gotten away with such animosity to the building of a Jewish center?
I agree with both your points.
ReplyDeleteYep, so do I.
ReplyDeleteI agree too.
ReplyDeleteMessage to minorities and majorities alike, don't stand for this, fight back, arm and protect yourselves. You can not exercise your right to be left in peace if you "rest in peace" thanks to bigots.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, but that's why I keep this blog going. It's a way of me lending my voice.
ReplyDeleteThe point that must not be lost here is that there is no reason, none, for attacking these places of worship. That means no one has any reason for doing something like this. We need our courts, as well as our laws, to take this approach when the vandals are finally put on trial.
