What to do about the Senate?
Have a referendum? Make it more transparent? Leave it alone? The last is not really a good option.
As for expense abuse and fraud, it goes beyond party lines; especially with the Senate since this sort of abuse has going on for, like, ever.
I never could understand why the government, of all places, could not keep this in check since it's probably the easiest thing in the world to do.
Meet once or twice a year, look over the expenses, and ask the Senator or politician to explain the questionable ones. Discipline or terminate if there's fraud or abuse. Just like in a company.
Simple.
