Romney Was Right: Russia A Challenge For American Diplomacy

Remember when Obama mocked Romney (and Palin for that matter) for claiming that Russia was a bigger threat to the United States than Al-Queda saying the 'Cold War is over?' And all the King's twirpy men and jesters in the media laughed out loud? Har, har, HAR!

When he said that I thought to myself "so what? Russia is still a big enough player to challenge American power. Granted, there's more cooperation between the two powers but it's an uneasy one to say the least."

It nevertheless lent some insights into how Obama views history.

That is, in a very limited manner.  Cold War over, ergo Russia no problem!

Anyway. Something tells me Russia means business in Ukraine and I'm afraid the United States has little leverage in this one. Not sure what John Kerry was trying to accomplish or say when he said 'Russia is using 19 century military tactics in a 21st century world' (or something to that effect). This sort of stuff wasn't exclusive to the 19th century.

Meanwhile, not to be out derped, Obama vapidly asserted 'Russia is on the wrong side of history.' This isn't University. It reminded me of students in my class who, with a sincere, straight face, believed Canada didn't need a military because 'no one would attack us' or 'there were no major wars' to worry about especially with the Cold War dead.

The irony being, it was in various history and politics classes. Seems they were reading history, but they weren't listening to it. Clueless, naive, and progressive I reckon.

Anyway.

Putin plays chess. Obama checkers.
