Wonder how Alex P. Keaton is taking it.
A quote from the iconic political figure explaining how she governed Great Britain:
"A system of state control can't be made good merely
because it is run by "clever" people who make the arrogant
assertion that they "know best" and that they are serving the
"public interest" interest which of course is determined by them.
State control is fundamentally bad because it denies people the
power to choose and the opportunity to bear responsibility for
their own actions.
Conversely, privatisation shrinks the power of the state and free
enterprise enlarges the power of the people."
So true. We Canadians should keep this in mind.
Alas, is the UK worse off today than when Thatcher took over back then?

Thatcher and Reagan. Both perhaps are over stated these days but one can't deny the power of their leadership skills and personalities. They rose and seized control of the moment. I think the overall message was correct, whether they implemented it appropriately or without contradiction is another matter. There's a significant amount of literature on their governance.
Currently, there is no Thatcher or Reagan on the North American or European landscape. For some, on the left of course, that's a good thing!
