“California isn’t a state in which liberals have run wild;
it’s a state where a liberal majority has been effectively
hamstrung by a fanatical conservative minority that, thanks to
supermajority rules, has been able to block effective
policy-making."
Wild and naked!
So. Lemme get this straight. Paul Kroooooooooooooooooogman thinks one-party rule is a healthy democracy? I somehow doubt he would be saying stupid things like this if the GOP were in power.
And seriously, this disease of blaming all ills on them is getting to be quite a concern. I mean, this may be a symptom of a larger mental issue.
It's not making any sense any more.
Friend: Your cake sucks.
Liberal: It's the Republicans fault my cake hasn't risen!
Friend: You do realize the Republican party doesn't exist anymore, right?
Liberal: Whatever. Racist.
Here's a more reasonable quote likely describing the situation more realistically in California:
"...William Anderson of Frostburg State University in Maryland writes,
“The fact that California has the highest taxes in the country, has
a virulent anti-business governmental culture, and has rules that
increase the cost of just about everything has nothing to do with
it. After all, in Wonderland, higher costs translate into more
spending, and more spending creates more wealth, so these ‘problem’
to which Krugman refers actually are opportunities for more
government spending, which means a brighter future.”
