Hey, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I will never understand that phrase. Bush was pummeled over Katrina by the left and it's not suprising the BP oil spill would become Obama's "Katrina."
BP's campaign donations to Obama from Reuters:
BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company's political action committees - $2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.
On top of that, the oil giant has spent millions each year on lobbying — including $15.9 million last year alone — as it has tried to influence energy policy.
During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.
Still he blasted BP and is after them. He also rescinded the decision to lift off shore drilling moratorium. Thus biting the hand that fed him.
ReplyDeleteTesting.
ReplyDeleteHe's being a typical politician.
ReplyDeleteObama clearly has not problem taking an anti-business stance. If he had such principles he would never had accepted campaign donations or at least had the decency to return the money. He did the same thing with Goldman - take the money but buries them for cheap political points.
He doesn't impress me at all.
As to off shore oil drilling, his reaction to it was predictable. Short-sighted if you ask me. And America should go nuclear once and for all. The environmental movement sent them back 25 years.
If all this is true, then push back against his own incompetence regarding this issue is fair game.
I agree on the nuclear issue. Another sector where our Harper is shooting us in the foot.
