It really is bizarre how domestic right-wing extremism is being equated to terrorism imported from Al-Queda and/or the Taliban.
The rhetoric, in fact, is ghastly if not shitty if you ask me. We still don't know why there was a bomb attempt in Times Square, but that still doesn't stop some from speculating.
Consider New York mayor Mike "Demrepind" Bloomberg's recent comments.
"There is no credible evidence so far that this attack was more than at least one person, the driver," said Mayor Mike Bloomberg. "After that there is no evidence that anyone else was involved. It may be, but we can't say that it is."
Followed by this lovely ruby:
"If I had to guess, twenty five cents, this would be exactly that," Bloomberg said. "Homegrown maybe a mentally deranged person or someone with a political agenda that doesn't like the health care bill or something. It could be anything."
A quarter? High roller him. Still he lost it for that's exactly what didn't happen. Of course, now that (dare I say) a Pakastani has been arrested his reasons has been spun into the fact he lost his home or something.
Whatever. Bloomberg sure is no Rudy Giuliani. Gotta love that "menatlly deranged" angle. Somehow, people who don't like health care reform have been grouped in as terrorists. Which I suppose would be most of the American population as anywhere between 60% and 78% of Americans in several polls have said they don't like the bill. By extension, apparently listeners of Beck and Limbaugh and who read Drudge have also been tagged as potentially dangerous. I just wish people who think this way would actually, you know, focus on the real threat.
Then there's these priceless words of wisdom by one Contessa Brewer. Just read it. Don't drink Sprite as you read. It may induce laughter and Sprite running through your nose.
Normally I breakdown nonsense but this is beyond reason.
The head spins me into vertigo I tell ya.
