National Parole Board Must Explain Itself To Canadians

I was just a shock as anybody to find out Graham James was pardoned by the National Parole Board (NPB). In fact, it angered me. To think future employers will not be able to perform background checks on an admitted sexual abuser and predator should give pause to all of us about what is going on.

A pardon does not erase a person's criminal record, but it means the information is kept in a separate file and doesn't show up on checks of the Canadian Police Information Centre, a key law-enforcement database used by the RCMP and other police forces.
Canadian Press.

Former Calgary Flames great Theo Fleury - who was a victim of James - said sexual abuse is "the biggest epidemic on the planet." I don't if statistics back this up, but the nature of this crime is hideous and must never be tolerated. I was glad to hear Prime Minister Harper is demanding an explanation from the NPB.
