You're a conformist.
A collectivist.
There are many things the pandemic has revealed about human nature to which a book could be written and of them is how easily it is to scare the herd and initiate a stampede by manipulating tribal emotions. Like fear for instance.
Does it not occur anyone by now how we may have jumped the gun a tad too quick and intensely?
We reacted to murky and unreliable data. The initial narrative was 'we had no choice but to shut down' to slow the spread, not overwhelm the system and to flatten the curve. They said this because they knew the virus wouldn't disappear.
Now that we've achieve all this while learning more about the virus - that it's looking more and more like it's not as lethal as first thought - people sufficiently scared by now and politicians have not adjusted their positions to reflect the (mostly positive) new data. They say they follow the science' but in reality they're not. How can they when low IQ Governors now either say they won't open until a vaccine is found (good luck with that) like that fool in Illinois or more intellectually and morally bankrupt, every single life is saved as Cuomo in New York just announced. He essentially said no cost is too high to save everyone.
Cuomo was sending patients back to nursing homes where the bulk of the chaos began to spread. Dr. Fauci - hero to the left mostly because they hate Trump - was pimping the wrong information from the get-go and when the incompetence threatened their reputations they began to push - and continue obscenely and absurdly push - draconian lockdowns. Lockdowns are counter productive and the bureaucrats know this.
When the WHO starts to shift and say Sweden is a model, you know you lost the fucken plot. It was bloody pretty evident what they were doing had sense. But hey, the media sure loves to piss on Sweden, eh? It's like they want them to fail.
This has been such a spectacular example of incompetence - including our own Federal ministers in Canada with Dr. Tam - it boggles the mind.
And yet, you astonishingly continue to say, 'Great job! Thanks for taking care of me because I'm scared witless!'on Twitter.
Imagine if we applied this logic to all diseases and accidents that kill us. We'd live to be submitted to the state. A state that pretends to eliminate all risks in our lives.
You may scoff, but those of you supporting the lockdown despite the obviously destructive unintended consequences, are directly at fault for the misery caused.
It's not the virus that put tens of millions out of work (and all the social ills that will go along with it) and spent trillions of debt. No. It's YOUR reaction to it that caused it. The justification will be 'we had no choice' which really is a false (choice) dichotomy. We DID have choices. We just chose this one.
And we chose it without much evidence to back it up and whether it worked will have to be determined through research but my suspicion is that it may not have been worth artificially ushering in a depression.
Rather than exercise skeptical thought, the mindless sheep now draw their ignorant ire against the people who don't want to starve. Even as the figures come in confirming the misery being caused, they still have the audacity to claim such people are 'selfish' and 'irresponsible'.
Let me tell what I think of such people.
They're immoral.
Most are probably still earning a pay check and have chosen to not see that they're sacrificing people to soothe their own fears. They deny their fears by fooling themselves into thinking 'they're 'saving lives' and are 'in this together' and are 'following the science'.
No they are not. They're not saving lives because the on the balance they're contributing to potentially a net loss in lives. They're not in it together because they still can feed their families while earning a check. And they certainly aren't following science. The science from the medical bureaucrat establishment is one now rooted in 'we need to keep the lockdown because we don't know anything and to be safe'. They too have no worries about feeding their families. The sheep are following a version of the facts that support a shut down narrative.
At this point, there is no evidence of any kind that empirically concludes social distancing and masks work. They may to some degree but does it justify draconian measures? I think not. And still more specious is the lack of evidence available to support a full lockdown.
It's truly bizarre that Democrat states - some of which aren't hit hard at all - are insisting on social engineering a 'new normal' while Republican states want to return to normal.
This is where the sheep scream, 'too soon' and 'there will be deaths!''
Of course there will be. The virus is here. You can't hide from it form other and when we get out there we're bound to perhaps see numbers increase. But what's the alternative? To stay indoors indefinitely while likely weakening our immune system?
What kind of intellectualizing is this. Moreover, what kind of life is this?
What kind of life is it to live in fear?
It's not a life.
It's letting a virus control us.
And the politicians are preying on YOUR fears.
When Stalin and Hitler - two infamous serial killers - were deliberately and methodically starving and killing Ukrainian kulaks, Poles and Jews, they spun the narrative so as to blame the victims.
I see a similar mindset here where we KNOW people's lives are being ruined and all the people who support this lockdown can say is 'you're selfish for wanting to go back to work'.
All unintended consequences were pretty easy to predict. How can you think there could not be a fall out across the board? The mindless sheep use the media term 'collateral damage' and still they don't grasp the depth of the crisis they help to induce. I still get a shrug from people who are told '40 million North Americans are out of work'. They seem to put on unicorn lenses thinking it will all get back to normal (while at the same time thinking there's a 'new norma') and everything will magically return.
If you lose 2 million jobs in a month that doesn't come back in a month. It takes years to get those jobs back. We've spent trillions and ruined millions in just TWO months. If you want to avoid further damage, you have to open up and deal with the virus dead on. This is not because we want 'granny to die' it's a cost-benefit analysis we must conduct.
The UN says 130 million are out of work. Which means, around 250 million people are feeling the severe pinch. 15% of our work force has been decimated. For 3 million cases worldwide and for a virus that will likely not kill.
I predict the death numbers will be revised and adjusted downwards in the future and this will go down as one of the most foolish over reactions
You're not a hero. You're not Ann fucken Frank. You're not fighting a war.
You're a coward and don't let the #together nonsense fool you into thinking otherwise.
You want to stay inside? Stay inside. Don't elevate this stupidity into a virtue.
The least you could do is keep quiet and quiver in fear in silence while having the decency to let us all go earn a living.
Depriving one of this basic of all rights is not only tremendously selfish, but immoral as well.
Now here's your diaper and go pant shit.
