My position is that what we're doing is in fact immoral. Not just economically, but immoral to prevent a person to earn a living. The single most crucial aspect of being a free sovereign individual is our agency. If you strip this you're left with a broken human.
Saying we're gonna set up a 'CERB' to help them is besides the point. We must strongly reconsider such measures from a moral perspective..
People who think this is ok because we must save mankind are not only missing the point but I would argue are flat out wrong. You don't demand a certain narrow aspect of a society to pay a price while another gets to move along.
There's a complete unfair two-tiered and hypocritical situation going on.
Basically, small business and low-to-mid level employees in certain industries have been sacrificed to give the illusion of public security in the face of a pandemic.
Corporations have been allowed to go on without much interruption.
Right there we lost the plot.
How can you keep one part of the economy open but not another? Strikes me as arbitrary. Are we basically saying one group of people must 'work together' while another won't?
But corporations are going to feel the hit if millions of us can't spend.
So this shut down is incomprehensible and counterproductive at this point.
Then there's a simple acid test. If Trudeau says we can't open until we find a vaccine and that this is the new normal then my advice is to ignore and take the opposite stance.
It means we should open up and go back to normal. We always did overcome exaggerated claims
The only thing this pandemic has shown me is a) China and the WHO can't be trusted and allowed for this to happen and as such we need to keep the pressure on them to account and b) we're led by national incompetents who don't know what they hell they're saying or doing anymore.
Now they're just being governed fear and feeding off public panic in a circular swirl of sophistry mixed in with some science.
This fear has shown how quickly we can lose our freedoms. Since this article appeared in The American Thinker on April 4 the stories of governors and Mayors across the continent of 'shutting down' things and exacting excessive 'social distancing' fines and rules has risen considerably and are clearly unconstitutional.
Two examples that caught my eye was Michigan exacting draconian measures on fishing and boating thus denying people the right to fish and hunt - which I don't have to tell you what this means as the most basic of human rights - and the Mayor of Louisville (a lovely university and Bourbon town we've visited) having the audacity to prevent Christians from observing Easter mass (which thankfully a Judge slapped down with the most awesome of language). I would love to see him to this to a Mosque. Not to mention Minnesota shutting down summer in early spring. And never mind the kids in Calgary and Arkansas getting harassed for playing hoops - alone. See more here.
Do you feel that jack boot on your neck, Luke?
These are examples of leaders letting events lead them and not taking a much more calm and civil approach by playing it as we go along. They're letting the fear of the unknown guide us. Ironic from a class that alleged to 'follow science' as Chrystia 'Chalk Board Screech Cringe' Freeland shrieked. As if to suggest anyone who doesn't follow orders are anti-science. I would expect nothing less from ideologues in the Liberal party.
But even here politicians best be aware you can't string people along indefinitely. If this is their play, I trust and hope people will speak out.
The two notions I'm hearing that are increasingly irritating me are 'we need to shut down until a vaccine is found' and that this is the 'new normal'. We need to push back on both these positions.
I don't believe this pandemic warrants such incredibly impractical actions.
This economy must open as a soon as possible. The longer it goes the more will people dig in fear and the harder it will convince them it's safe to go outside - if not already.

Any questions on the theory China's malfeasance is by design?
I hope people realize that China is nationalizing American companies in China. I have little sympathy for those companies.

I don't know much about the SEIR model but if it's reliable right from the get-go we mishandled things.
In fairness, I'm not too hard on our politicians or medical experts since China and WHO mislead us but when we did find out, some sill insisted on pretending China was telling us the truth. I'm almost certain our fools in Ottawa did this.

Get it out of your thick skulls and heads. We're not Korea.
In order to be Korea, we need to not over react and not listen to China. Korea has two up on us. Another reason was they had prior experiences with outbreaks and took the necessary steps to prepare for it. They're not perfect and this is not an exact science but they're mindset is different from ours.
I don't know what it is, but something isn't adding up that we so willingly shut down our economies potentially ruining the lives of millions for this. It makes no sense.
Makes me wonder 'cui bono?' and just how deep our corruption runs.
Always remember. We let Canadian Tire stay open but not the little hardware store. And then we're forced to watch companies take out ads with 'we're in this together' drivel.
If anything, we've shown we're nowhere near together with all this illusion.
Either you shut it ALL DOWN or you don't.
After all, what the banks are really saying in those emails ''we're hear for you' is 'fuck you pay us'.
As long as that goes, people get fucked.

“Today we have learned from breakthrough research that dead people cannot catch COVID-19. This is truly a gamechanger. To that end, I’m signing an executive order mandating the systematic extermination of the population. I’m calling this initiative the Final COVID-19 Solution. There will of course be limited exceptions made for individuals deemed essential.
Through shared sacrifice we can beat this terrible pandemic. Remember, we’re all in this together. If it saves just one life, it will be worth it.”

The challenges ahead of us in dealing with China will be great. Consider Nature magazine:
British scientific journal Nature has apologised for associating Covid-19 with China in its reporting, saying that early coverage of the global health crisis by itself and other media had led to racist attacks on people of Asian descent around the world.
In an article published on Tuesday, the publication said that the World Health Organisation’s announcement on February 11 that the official name for the pneumonia-like virus would be Covid-19 had been an implicit reminder to “those who had erroneously been associating the virus with Wuhan and with China in their news coverage – including Nature”.
“That we did so was an error on our part, for which we take responsibility and apologise,” it said.
So. Um. Go fuck yourselves and go fuck yourselves.

A rant. Because.
What a fucken mess.
The incoherent messaging from leaders, China running around pretending their the world's Florence Nightingale, people burrowed in their homes likely to not come out until who knows when because the media is filling their heads with hyperbole.
You get stories about China buying up world supplies in order to hoard them and sell them back to the world under the guise of 'saving' them. Europeans initially sending supplies (including naive Canada) to show 'solidarity' with the Chinese as France's macron said only to realize 'D'oh!' they needed it and that China is more willing to dangle masks in our faces so long as we don't call it the Wuhan virus' and that we suck their toes.
A Scottish heath minister resigns because she failed to observe her own protocols. A Chicago Mayor got her hair done even though she demanded all services close. A Louisville Mayor banned drive-thru Easter services where a Judge had to issue a temporary injunction allowing for it because it was clearly unconstitutional. In Arkansas, a 12 year-old girl was shooting hoops by herself and the city confiscated her hoops. Same thing happened in Calgary. Towns want people to wear anklets. In Texas one town is fining people $1000 for not wearing masks.
It goes on and on.
It goes on and on.
A petition here is going around to keep everything closed until September even if things get better. Which leads me to say, 'then stay home and let the rest of us go on'.
The longer this goes, the more the politicians get drunk on authority because in case you haven't noticed, it's pretty damn easy to turn people into blind sheep.
Folks, we're witnessing a public panic in real time and the politicians have already lost the plot. And here's the kicker: Neither the medical bureaucrats or the politicians know sweet fuck all about what to do.
The shutdown is directly connected to incompetence. We actually don't even know if all this works because, get this, a study in Germany argue tens of millions of people already have the virus! Or that in California (after Newsome is all but acted like an idiot) it's being postulated that the virus has been around for quite some time. Duh, you think?
Then there's the news in Europe where Norway, Denmark, Austria and the Czechs have all decided to start opening up. Sweden is already there while Holland is close to it. Denmark said 'summer will go on' and nothing will be banned. But Michigan and Minnesota pull out their hairs and lose their composure shutting their states down.
And then there's our Trio of Titilating Twats - Tam, Justing and Hajdu. The Trifecta of Dimwitted Tokenism. They who chose to pander to ideologues by not shutting airspace for fears of 'xenophobia', who claim there's no proof China lied and is lying, or that masks don't work while accepting Health Canada's decision to not allow kits made in Canada to be used even though the rest of the world is using them.
It's ok. Though. We have all these CERBS and wage subsidies and loans and all these fucken bail outs that will make it all good!
We went from $20 billion to $200 billion in debt in ONE month. If I hear ONE person say, 'we had no choice' I think I'm gonna snap like George Costanza.
Poptart Lasagna went from Zoolander to Denethor in one month.
This is worse than a New England witch hunt. It's worse than that! It's not Arkham's lunatics running the show.
It's the retards below them who actually pull their puppet strings.
