Am I the only one that's gonna have to go ahead and say it's getting a little much now?
June is Gay Pride month (remember kids, pride is one of the deadly sins) and boy are people not letting us forget it.
Seems every other month or day is reserved for a class of people or groups. There's this day and that day.
Lost in the discussion is the fact, as we're constantly told, we're all sharing and living in the same country. To then break ranks and say, 'we're different' is tolerable up to a point but when it just becomes a means to an end it just comes off as narcissism.
A few years back I took dead aim at Black History month in February. There is no such thing as black history in North America. There's just history. We labeled it as 'black' because, well, to differentiate but in reality it's nonsense.
Of course we should celebrate the contribution of blacks to the North American experience. It goes without saying. We honor them 12 months out of the year. I'm surprised no one has proposed a Muslim month yet.
Same with LBGTQ month. I'm glad people who are minorities and in some cases seen as 'victims' so as to demand a month dedicated to their existence but don't expect you won't get criticism for it.
You don't own the discussion.
I draw the line at flying unofficial flags in public lands.
Is nothing sacred anymore?
It's bad enough the destruction of Christianity has hastened the fall of the West and its collapse into a false-virtuous existence now we have to merge special status symbols with the state?
I thought we were secular. You know, separation of church and state as the left loves to holler whenever a Christian ever dares speak or act their conscience.
What's the difference here?
That a shallow and remedial ideological twit like Justin would engage in such mindless symbolism is not surprising. However, lost in the mix here is gays are already represented through the symbol of the Canadian flag that represents every single Canadian.
That's the only flag that should be flown over embassies or government buildings.
Trump was right to deny flying LBGTQ on American property. They don't represent the population as a whole but a subset of it. They don't have the right to special status and pushing the issue only makes them come off as trying to push an agenda. It's irrelevant that they've been mistreated over the years. Great strides have been made on that front.
By all means, enjoy the month. Dance in the street. Share a shot with Justin. Mock Trump. Fly your flags and parade in jorts.
Just don't expect everyone to care. And don't be surprised that flying the LBGTQ flag on public lands raises an eyebrow or two.

Speaking of dubious behaviour. They really need to stop bullying private enterprises.
The 'bake a cake' phenomena in the United States has turned into nothing more than a bullying tactic by the so-called Gay Mafia. I find it unacceptable and problematic - and immoral - that they go around destroying the lives of family businesses who refuse to bake them a cake.
Ever hear of moving on to the next shop? It's the same notion regarding leftists who want to shut down channels and speech they disagree with. Don't like Crowder? DON'T LISTEN.
By going after people you disagree with, you fall into the fascist trap and there's no amount of mental gymnastics for you to get around that. You call for censorship, you don't get to redefine this totalitarian action as being 'just'. It's not.
Bullies like Maza only make comedians like Crowder - and he is just a comedian as Stewart once said of himself. No different than left-wing heroes like Maher, Oliver, Meyers, Colbert, Noah who all make fun of 'the right kind' of people' - stronger and more popular.
Heck, all I do now is subscribe to channels I don't listen to but have run afoul of the SJW witch hunters.
What can I say? It's my way of saying 'fuck you'.
It's even worse, to get back to the bake shops, when these businesses win in court but continue to be harassed. The latest is one Autumn Scardina in Colorado who - in her self-righteous drive - won't stop fighting for justice until she crushes a family running the Masterpiece bake shop.
Nice morals you got there.
Gay couples who go around shit disturbing in this manner are immoral and so are there lawyers.
One has to wonder if people like Scardina would have the guts and courage to do the same to a Muslim bake shop in the same situation.
Anyway, I visited their Facebook page and saw this:

Anyway, I visited their Facebook page and saw this:
"Clients and colleagues, we need your help:
As our former partner Autumn Scardina gains media coverage for her litigation against Masterpiece Cakeshop, our firm attracts bigots from across the nation seeking to express their hatred for the LGBTQ community through false reviews of our firm. While some fake reviews are removed, many remain. This lowers our rating thereby making it more difficult for those in need to find competent, caring, and effective counsel.
It seems the best way to combat the negative attention is to ask those of you with positive experiences with our work product, ethics, and legal skills to provide a counterbalancing review. So please, if you have a moment, please help us help others by sharing your experiences with Scardina Law using this link..."
Well, how about living by one simple but powerful adage people have forgotten: Live and let live.
Maybe you deserve some of the anger hurled your way?
