It all boils down to not "trusting people's decisions."
It's irrational to think passing off choices to bureaucrats is healthy or a good idea.
Just plain outrageous.
The irony, of course, is that while they don't think we're to be trusted to make the right choices (starving kids! roads!), they seem to think it's perfectly alright for someone else (bureaucrat who has absolutely nothing invested in my life) to make choices on our behalf.
Sure. Libertarians are quacks. Sure.
