Obama On Obamacare: Unworkable

Nice.

Mostly because of petulant people who bought into GOP obstructionism and right-wing misinformation while not realizing they have shitty insurance plans no doubt.

Watching from afar, from where I sit far atop this little hill, the law was doomed to fail from the onset. It was passed in the middle of the night without Republican support (who did table their own alternatives), and little public support. As time went on, as people read more about the bill and were directly impacted, they began to realize the legislation didn't come as advertised. Not only that, special exemptions only made Obamacare all the more cynical.

This was a unilateral Democrat decision to redistribute wealth and they alone own it.

All the spinning on trying to pin this on the GOP has backfired mostly because people got pissed off after realizing they had been had.

I suspect editorials - sober ones anyway - like this one in the Tampa Bay Times are being repeated across the country.

But it won't stop them from making the following statement:

"...For healthy people, inexpensive bare-bones insurance may seem like a good deal — until they have an accident or get sick.."

Well, that's the whole point about choice.  People make the rational decision to pay what they need since no one knows what the future holds. Some may be driven to pay to protect against and others won't. What I'd like to know is exactly what percentage of such folks mentioned above actually leave a negative impact on insurance.

The bottom line is the healthy 30 year-old shouldn't have to subsidized another person's lifestyle, say, by being forced to take coverage that includes contraception.

It's nonsense.

From the letters to the editor:

"Junk insurance' may not be the way to go, but at least those who purchased it did so with freedom of choice and not directed by some bureaucrat in Washington. And speaking of 'junk insurance,' how about the 50 year-old bachelor nondrinker, non-drug user without children, who loses his insurance because of Obamacare requirements. Now he is forced to select from a limited number of policies that cost up to twice as much as his cancelled insurance and require coverage for pregnant, child dental care, alcohol and drug rehab. Now I call that real 'junk science.' Dayle

It's called collateral damage.

They know what's best for you, Dayle.
