I'm going to surmise here.

Pst. Vaccines. Variants. Early treatments.

What about them?

Here's how I see how things will play out in the fall. 

If the vaccines aren't effective against the Delta variants (that they're all but assuring will happen) expect a new round of lockdowns.

See.

Canada has committed itself to the vaccine/lockdown strategy. They gambled on an unproven vaccine for a virus with a survival rate and coercive measures that have no scientific basis to which to enact.

No one bothered to ask: What if they don't work? Don't make promises you may not be able to keep. The entire premise of 'all or nothing' with vaccines as the only solution was a spectacularly foolish mistake only fools could make. And make it they did. Forcefully and with misguided confidence to boot.

By saying booster shots may be necessary in the fall, experts are all but admitting there's a good chance the vaccines - already so-so in efficacy - will not be sufficient. At which point, the projection models will predict if action isn't undertaken the hospital system will be overwhelmed. It's Groundhog Day.

Notice how the Legault government has not expanded ICU units ONCE AGAIN this summer. He's too busy wasting money on pedo-vaccine buses. To him, the kids and population are just part of his sales objectives. Nothing more.

Ditto Canada and the incompetents who run PHAC and other medical offices.

There is one way to avoid this.

Early treatments.

But in Canada, we ban HCQ and Ivermectin. We want, like Fauci did, empirical evidence. Well, we do have very good evidence for medicine that DOES save lives. After all, is the goal not to save granny? If one dead is too many, then why deny such low cost, low risk treatments? The down risk is it doesn't work. 

The key part of using such treatments is it alleviates stress on the public heath system. Canada always waits until beds start to fill up and then panics and reacts by enforcing idiotic draconian measures.

An enlightened approach would use treatments as a complement to other options. 

Can't have that in Canada though. Bette to let people suffer and die.

Do no harm is a quaint notion to doctors it would appear. 

It's also medical malpractice and people will have to account for this decision. 

So get ready for the fall. Because we didn't let the healthy get exposed last year when they were strong, the flu will likely come back with a vengeance. It didn't 'disappear'. And when it does, watch out. 

I'm so disillusioned that I harbour no illusions the government will do the right thing and not spread lies, fear and panic. They will further worsen a situation they've already made so bad it's hard to see how we can fix this whole bloody mess.

They talk as if the vaccines are a panacea but they're not. Not even close. I reckon we'll know for sure in the fall.

I fear for the fall. For two reasons. Will the flu come back stronger than it has in recent years and how will the government react.

It's a time bomb. Don't be surprised that this time around the double-threat of flu and variants lead incompetent officials to usher in a harsher round of lockdowns. 

We simply haven't adjusted.

And we will pay.
